Description: 

Primary job responsibility of the Production Engineer will be to implement, develop, review and improve existing and new processes, procedures, methods and controls relevant to meet manufacturing objectives. Ideal candidate will recommend resolution of existing or imminent manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities: 

* Carries out process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.
* Improves manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
* Prepares and presents plans for the above and coordinate deployment including training of team members.
* Assists general manager in improving a system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control and training.
* Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
* Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. .
* Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
* Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
* Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
* Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
* Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams.

Requirements: 

* Office hours in excess of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
* Structured problem solving skills (i.e. Root Cause and Corrective Action, Fish-Bone diagrams, 5 Whys, etc…)
* MRP/ERP system experience
* Six Sigma and/or lean manufacturing experience preferred
* Strong computer proficiency with MS Office (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate well with others and to be a team player
* Strong organizational skills
* Self-motivated, self-starter
* Effective at time management and prioritization. Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
