Test Technician I

Job Title: 
Test Technician I
• AS degree or above in Electronics or technical school certificate relating to Electronics

Job summary
Apply electrical and electronic theory and related knowledge, usually under the direction of engineering staff, to tune/align/troubleshoot and modify microwave RF components to comply with customer specifications. It will also include calibration of a variety of test equipment and taking and recording final data.


Summary of essential job functions
Applicant should possess excellent written and verbal skills as well as excellent hand/eye co-ordination and dexterity. Candidate will possess a basic electronics background and will be responsible for environmentally testing a wide variety of Delta Microwave RF components to pre-determined customer specifications. This will be done using microwave test equipment and various tooling and hardware. Candidate will also be expected to measure and record test data as required i.e. Acceptance/Qualification Test Reports.


Mandatory Skills:
• Basic knowledge AC/DC theory
• Basic knowledge of RF components and the ability to describe their operations,
• Able to correlate power between dBm and Watts
• Schematic Symbols
• Working Experience with Microsoft office (MS Word and Excel)
• Familiarity and Understanding of S- Parameters (S11, S21, S12, S22)

Desirable Skills:
• Hands on experience with Performance Network Analyzers (PNA’s)
• Experience with vibration systems (Unholtz Dickie Systems)
• Experience with temperature and vacuum sytems (Thermotron, Sigma Systems, Test Equity)
• Experience with data acquisition systems (Agilent 34970A and HBM products)
• Experience with high power testing (Frequencies from UHF up to Ku Band)
• Experience with automate test systems and Software (MATLAB, HPVEE)
• Experience with Multipaction and Corona
• Experience with various types of lab equipment (Power Supplies, Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes, Hi Pot’s, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Power Sensors, Noise Figure Analyzes, etc)
• Able to generate technical reports best on test results from acceptance and qualification testing

• Can be flexible with scheduling
o Schedule changes in a rotational pattern between the following two shifts depending on shipping commitments:
 7:30AM to 4:00PM
 2:30PM to 11PM
• Willing to work overtime (9 to 10 hour days) and occasional Saturdays (5 to 6 hours)
• Willing to travel 10% to 25% of the time
• Ability to maintain a professional relationship with fellow employees
• Able to lift 50lbs

Minimum Requirements:
• AS degree or above in Electronics or technical school certificate relating to Electronics
The technician should also show understanding of and electronic principals and electronics lab tools for example:
• RF signal generators
• Spectrum Analyzers
• Calibration equipment
• Basic Knowledge of Programming i.e. Agilent Vee or Lab View
• Computers (Word and Excel)
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to travel to facilities that could range from 5 minutes up to 8 hours away.
